Yapuchiri Building Donations
Fundraising Campaign 2011-2012
We are Yapuchuri, an association of indigenous Aymara women from the rural communities of the Lake Titicaca region in the altiplano of Peru, South America. In the Aymara language Yapuchiri means sower. Our Mission is to sow the seed of life as we strive to better the condition of Aymara women through artesania, formation and health care.

Our Vision has been to found a small Center of Women dedicated to fair trade artesania, formation, and health for the women. The center will provide space for reception, knitting together, alpaca fiber, products, formation and domestic violence resources, natural medicine as well as for meetings, communications, accounting, safe storage of documents, and simply to be out of the elements.
We have been Yapuchiri for many years now. Without a center we have done what we can. We have scattered our materials, products and documents among the members family homes for safe care. When we received our first funds and materials for walls were made available the president slept on the ground in the altiplano cold and dark guarding should a thief appear.
We are eager to get our fundraising campaign underway because the rainy season is fast approaching and slows down the construction.
(Donations are not tax deductible)

Yapuchiri’s mission is to better the conditions of life of the Aymara women of the altiplano in the areas of artesania, formation, and health.
